ok I know this is weird but have any of you heard anything on the news about turkey or turkey meat??? My daughter was at school today and ate turkey pie which she eats turkey alot..she had a huge allergic reaction to it where her mouth and lips were swollen and numb and her face broke out in whelps and she couldnt feel her face or mouth... I had to rush and get her and have her treated ...has anyone heard of anything?? Thank you in advance

I'd say there was somehting else either "in" or with the turkey

She must have been allergic to something else on the sandwich..

Thank you in advance It may be possible that she is not allergic to turkey itself, but some ingredient in the pie....try to see what they put in it, and use the ingredients as a checklist....that way, you will have a good idea as to what may trigger the reaction.

not sure she eats turkey all the time and at age 13 if it was i think we would of known by now...im clueless....

if she eats turkey all the time its probabaly not the turkey but yet a spice in it... or something in it she doesnt normally eat....

it could have been something else besides the turkey. I would ask what exactly was in it and do an allergy test. Good luck

my ex is allergic to turkey and chicken, it makes her suicidal.

It might also be due to various filler materials used with the turkey to add mass, or change color or texture. Stuff like milk, eggs, bread, or various chemicals which can cause allergic reactions to those with sensitivities. You should probably take your daughter to a doctor and have tested for allergies. Once you've got something potentially pinned-down, you can check with the school to see what is in the turkey.

sometimes an alleric reaction can develop to a food that you have never had one to before... this just happened to my lil cousin yesterday she ate some cashews and almost died even tho she had ate them many times before...she is in icu on a respitaror now

sounds like hives.... i have them when i take pennycillian<however u spell that> but once i picked mold off of cake never ate it but didnt wash my hands..... and rubbed my eyes... and i got a big knot on my eyeball! was a hive on my eyeball! so its the mold im highly allergic too so bad it can kill me...

I think it was somehting else in the "brand" of pie that they have. It's probably not the turkey. Find out the ingredients from the school, they have to provide that

get her tested.....it could be anything in the turkey pie.... My son had a huge reaction to the food colouring in bugs bunny vitamins once.....I had to rush him to the er.....
