Topic: What is the best American rock 'n' roll band of all ti | |

Boston were a great band! Does anyone know what's happened to them? I believe that they are still touring, although their lead singer apparently committed suicide last year. Horrible. I'd check the Wikipedia article on the band for more specifics. |

What about Chicago? Boston? Journey? Just throwing out some other good American bands. I'm so glad that somebody else posted Boston before I did. Here's to good taste! Well, thank you very much! |

There are quite a few bands who could rightfully claim this title. But, I like to look at a few factors when deciding this, such as longevity, album sales, cohesiveness and there talents when meshed together. When I did all this, one group stood out from the rest, and that group is...................
AEROSMITH- They have been going since the 70's. But it was in the mid to late 80's, and the 90's where they truly soldified there status. Pump is one of the best albums of the 80's (came out in 89) that starts off rocking and never lets up. You can list so many of there hits that it is silly. But what made them so good was the fact that all five men meshed well. Joey Kramer is a very good drummer, and Joe Perry is one of the best guitarist to have ever lived. And Stephen Tyler? He is one of the best frontmen in the history of rock n' roll. Put it all together and Aerosmith is quite simply the best. |

I love Aerosmith, but I think that other bands were more 'rock'n'roll' and I do not mean just the music but a rocker attitude, something like Aerosmith was in the'70s, they were after and Guns nor to speak of The Doors!. Personally, if I have to categorize any rock'band not as good I look at sales or other commercial attitudes. |
