again the Pope or the Vatican can say that it's OK believing on flying pigs, but if I'm not a catholic i should not give a dime.
I still don't get it. why people feel so threaten for an individual or a group of individuals that these same people hold as lunatics?

I don't imagine I could ever let someone else tell me what I can and cannot believe. It's just beyond my comprehension. It's like being married.laugh

Most people here were just goofing around M.

I actually think it is a sign of growth- as you yourself have stated in the past the Catholic Church has a history of extreme rigidity. Many "heretics" believed that the earth revolved around the sun, that there could be life on other planets.. etc. were tortured, killed or at the very least excomunicated for these beliefs in the past.

Also, just because I don't agree with all your beliefs doesn't mean I don't have some respect for the scholarship and libraries, etc. that the church possesses.

Lastly, as I have stated in the past, non-christians must pay a certain amount of attention to christians because christians are in the majority. The opinions and beliefs of christians can have practical repercussions for non-christians because of laws and customs proposed or implemented by them.

but mostly it's just news. I don't live in Japan either but that doesn't mean i don't pay attention to news related to that country. Because I'm interested and because it may well impact my life directly at some point...

Peace and joy to you my friend. flowerforyou

I cannot imagine a world that has no creative life (God) behind it. If the universe were not alive, it would be dead, and if it were dead it would not be expanding and if it were not expanding, it would have been gone a long time ago given infinity.

If it the universe was not all about life and consciousness, it would not exist.

well "The Lonely Walker" if it didn't matter what you thought then I wouldn't have asked you but anyway in your own way you did answer it.... since everyone in this forum has an agenda but yet you chose to point a "judgemental" finger at me actually answered the question that I asked you

why am i being judgmental? i'm just making a question.
u r an odd in these forums. i mean everybody here renders christians as delusional, but at least they believe in some kind of god.
however, you don't fit in either side, so i'm confused.

you can't imagine it because it's impossible to imagine the unimaginable ...but if you could ... you would more than likely view this existence as boring

well you said that I am "odd" and don't fit on "either side" and that I have an agenda..er...isn't that being "judgemental" well atleast that may explain why you are confuse

also you are making questions only to avoid answering questions pose to you ...so ok...I'll just try asking you easy ones from now on

How is it that this story can be twisted so?

The Pope didn't say it.
The Vatican chief astronomer did. (Rev. Jose Gabriel Funes)

He didn't say they existed, he said that believing in aliens does not contradict faith in God.

"Funes said that ruling out the existence of aliens would be like "putting limits" on God's creative freedom."

HUGE difference.

I think for the simple fact of being humans and being able to use reason we are making judgments all the time.
