Not in the least bit in my eyes.

I don't think it shows how important they really are. It may indicate how important they think they are. 2 diffrent things.

It shouldn't, but (seeing as how more and more emphasis is placed on material items nowadays) it often is.

a person has gained indicate how important they are? Not what kind of person they are, but how important. Oh absolutuely not, or why else would an employee call their boss (even the co. owner) a jerk...(to put it nicely.) :) No one is perfect but there is something to be said about having a healthy self confidence. Accomplishment is one form of self affirmation. OTOH...failure is not a person...it's an event. See? :) |

i love how you get em thinkin' peccy. look at all the cool answers.
material possessions are merely a thing we rent here, for our pleasure, and to make life easier at times, when we are done, we give them to the next caretaker, and so-on. that's why it's our obligation to help our earth, for nothing less than that. |

Different strokes for different folks. Everyone has their own needs and wants. I personally do not think it is the material possessions that makes a person but how they HANDLE their material possessions and how they FEEL about them. You know, whether they have a big charge on them or the emotions attached. Everyone is different.
