Just quit, simple enough flowerforyou flowerforyou

Simple? I don't think so. Trying to quit a habit that I had for 19 years (half of my life-time) was not simple. It was very hard and still is. Like I said, I've only been at it for 8 months but every day is a struggle. Maybe if I had a stress free life (like that will every happen) it would make it easier, but as for it being simple, it's not.

I would like to say that I am glad I quit, especially now that I know they are adding things that could make my testicles fall off.bigsmile

You had me rolling on that one!!laugh laugh laugh

So the state of Illinois has a law that every cigarette that gets shipped into the state has to follow the FSC guideline (Fire Safe Cigarette). Which forces the manufacture to wax the paper of the cigarette so that it will magically go out if it falls out of one irresponsible smokers hands and happens to hit a puddle of gasoline thus effectively lighting the moron on fire (I'm pro-evolution so I see no problem with that). This wax completly changes the flavor of the cigarette and several manufacturers have changed the blend so that it is easier to *poof* go out. Personally, dumbass idea. Your thoughts?

I would be interested in learning about what additional chemicals they will be putting into the cigarettes when this happens.

I put up with that when I lived in NY. real pain in the azz.

It's moronic, they don't magically go out and if they fall on the right surface they stay lit long enough to burn it which if left unattended (sleeping smoker) it will ignite a fire.
They go out constantly.

I 2nd that. I used to smoke (have quit for 8 months now after smoking for 19 years, hurray for me drinker )but I lived in New York and smoked "their" cigarettes. Every time I lit it up, if I didn't consistently inhale, it would go out. It was almost as if right after I lit up, there was an invisible man snuffing it out. It was weird and hard to get used to.

WooHoo.drinker Congrats on a major accomplishment.flowerforyou

First Off.. Howdy neighbor.. I agree with the thought that stupid people should perish faster.. I'm a smoker, and have smoked since 1980 or so.. FSC sucks.. Sounds like something that Gov. Goblomeb!tch created, along with the "You CAN'T smoke in bars" law. I understand the restaurant part of the law,but people DO NOT go to a pub/bar/tavern/club for their health.
I don't know which will make me happier- seeing him or Bush get the door in the butt on the final day of office.

I don't want to quit, I'm wondering moreso where the logic is behind a Fire Safe Cigarette? Or the logic behind not being able to smoke in a bar? Perhaps even the fact that I pay extra tax on a pack of cigarette's so that this money can go to healthcare that I don't use? I would like to also know what kind of logic is behind taxing cigarette's to that degree? Perhaps we will quit smoking now, no. Maybe little kids won't start now, no. Money, that is it.

you have a valid point, you should be able to smoke if you want to..however more and more people are choosing not to and are demanding smoke free environments..additionally the cigarette companies have been lying for decades about their products not being harmful. I dont believe the consumer should be made to pay for the decisions of others,...if you choose to smoke thats your business. If you get sick as a result of it then thats your business too and I shouldnt have to pay for that choice. As long as you have all the information beforehand...if you understand you are inhaling a toxin and still choose to do so...then go ahead and take the consequences if there are any.
