You must not live in California then, as the hippies out here have effectively outlawed anything 50-cal and up. Their claim is that "there's no need for anything that large on our streets. Think of the children!!!!". Then again, these are the same idiots who believe we should just start handing out citizenship papers to anyone who just happens to step within our borders, too. So you know they're a bunch of idiots.

Ya can't even get concealed-carry permits out here (depending on the city), because the idiots running things think they'll be doling out permits to gun nuts hell-bent on shooting at people.
I believe the last person here in L.A. to get a CCP was Edward James Olmos, which was issued to him after he finished that "American Me" movie of his. The movie was about the Mexican Mafia, which didn't take too kindly to the rather specific plot points and stuff. In fact, some of the tech advisors on the movie were actually killed by the Mex Mafia at some point. Good luck getting a CCP nowadays, though- it just ain't gonna happen.
