It's a bit depressing..........but what does anyone think about this?



i carved my name in the side of a stone cast into the river
watched it sink to the bottom
i carved my name into the hood of a car cast into a heap
watched it stolen and stripped
i carved my name in Pandora's Box cast into the shadows
watched it fade into untouchable void
i carved my name into your chest cast into our love
watched it bleed and scar and never heal
i carved my heart on the hem of my sleeve
watched it
watched it
watched it
watched it ignored by passing strangers cast into night
and passing fools in my bed cast into hell
i carved my name on my doorway cast into anyone's sight
watched it ignored by passing friends
so i carved my name in my very own flesh cast into water
watched myself
landing on the stone in murky depths
shredded metal in pieces of machine
opening Pandora whom should never be seen
falling into flesh that will never heal
wading in tattered clothing soaked unreal
drowning in feelings never to feel
desperate bloody carvings of need never met
casting stones in my own hopeless net
carving my name
into my own flesh

It's very well written. But much better to carve your name in the heart
of another that they may cherish it forever.
