Across The Room

Across the room what will you see?
The glance behind the eyes?
Lives lived in question, answers..some
Truth of willed, some lies.
The eyes are blind though seeing,
The heart will beat though stopped.
Across the room is rhythm, pulse reaching to the top.

Across the room is laughter.
Behind the sound is stilled
The thoughts of home and family
And missing noise once filled.
Quiet and the roaring,
Happy, too, and sad
Across the room you join in, contagious is the plan.

Across the room Love's yearning
The child she cannot bear.
Care sees her heart is yielding
His witness he will share.
The couple, youth now waning.
Each hand they clasp so tight.
Across the room of presence, the future's gasp in sight.

Across the room Child Crowd waits.
Hope that's welcomed in,
Chancing for the future,
Teaching life to win.
Living in the moment,
Ceasing for no one,
Across the room is waiting tomorrow for all men.

Across the room
What did you see?
Did you recognize?
That you are life around you
That you are deemed the wise.
We, all of us have been allowed
To be what life can see.
We all of us are now there..across the room of BE.
