I believe in positive thinking. It's about your aura. Field of dreams comes to mind. "If you build it, they will come." Same thing. If you believe it, it will come true. Within reason of course. If that is your dream, go for it! I can retire in 3 1/2 years, but I will not be able to stop working. I've been doing what I do for living for so long, I want to do something completely different. I am trying to develop a plan for that. It's going to happen if I have to be a Walmart greeter! I'll just be one somewhere that I can enjoy more than here! Good luck with your dream!

I'm not retiring there. I have family in portugal. My cousin is head of one of the hotels there. I'll most likely work for the hotel with a free place to live.
 I'm lucky.

I realized that you're too young to retire! Really, I am too. That's why I will have to work somewhere. I envy you! I wish I had relatives that could give me opportunities to do interesting things!All mine just live here too and most of them have average jobs, just like I do. I'm not complaining, mine has given me the ability to raise my daughter on my own, own my home, and have a decent life. But my job is not fun. I met a man who went to work in a ice cream and pie shop at a major tourist attraction after he retired. He eventually bought the shop and he and his wife run it through the summer months and then go south for the winter and relax. That just sounded so good to me and made me realize that the options are endless. I just have to find the one that is right for me! I have no doubt that you will do just fine and have a wonderful memory to tell!
