BTW, if anyone can direct me to the manual on How to Raise a Child, I'd really appreciate it.

Check out a book called Common Sense Parenting.... you would most likely find that quite validating. flowerforyou

Have you ever just stared at your child while they were sleeping, watching a movie, or playing? Whatever the action is?

And just remember what you have had so far, and waht the future brings?

The peace and joy they bring you? Hoping that you give them the best childhood possible?

My daughter brings so much to me, yesterday, today, and tommorow...flowerforyou

i still do that and my son is 28 years old this month

it only changes when the poison enters one of you and it is permitted to stay

I still do that to my 5 year when she's down.......i'll stroke her hair and give her a kiss on the cheek.....she still asks me to hold her like i used to before she went to live with my brother (try holding a five year like a small baby)......and the best part is..........she even watches me sleep

Have you noticed a greater appreciation for your own parents now that you have kids. Me and my mom were always at odds, I swore Id move out and forget who she was. Shes my best friend and we work togehter and I NEVER pass up an oppertunity to tell her I appreciate her. Thats what I look forward to when things get tough with my kids.

I couldn't agree more. There were 5 of us and I'm sure we, myself included, put her through alot of tough times. But I have a great relationship with her now, and a better appreciation for everything she did and for her wisdom. I guess she was right after all.

I watch them a little in the morning before the are up. It is one of the few times they are still! They are almost 4, and almost 5 1/2. It is amazing the funny things that they come up with. Especially when I am trying to be serious. I try to enjoy them now because I know as they get older they will not want to hang with dad as much.
