Closed

She closed the curtains,
To shut out the rain.
The downpour was flooding,
Familiar refrain.

The drops were beading,
And sheeting a tune.
Hitting the sidewalks,
Fill puddles would soon.

Gentle the fall, from the sift
Through the trees.
Closing her eyes,
Falling on her knees.

Sometimes it feels,
Too far away,
From all she loves.
Another day?

She closed the curtains,
With a deep winded sigh.
Closed her umbrella and
Let the rain cry.
