The 3rd Infantry Division was activated at Camp Greene, North Carolina, in November 1917. Eight months later, at midnight on July 14, 1918 the Division went into combat for the first time. During World War I, as a member of the American Expeditionary Force to Europe the Division earned its name as the "Rock of the Marne," when surrounding units retreated, the 3rd Infantry Division remained. Although the stand was quite successful, the unit suffered many casualties. Sorry for the copy / paste. MARNE a location in France. Sheeeesh!!!!!!!! Nat'l Guard huh? Canadian Reservist and I knew that. |

I have never met an American that didnt support our soldiers. Many that dont support Bush and his policies, but not one who didnt support the troops. This has a distinct ring of propoganda to me and Im a vet! As bad as it would seem, there are people that participate in the large anti-war rallies in larger cities that do not support the troops. I have been to a major rally in D.C. (not there with them, just passing by) and In the short few mineuts that I was near them I heard everything from people saying that we should leave all the troops over there there to fend for themselves, all the way to people who were saying that any soldiers that took part in this war should be killed and the like. So yes it is sad but true there are people that dont support our troops. Give me a link! Ive been to a few smaller rallies and Ive never heard it. In fact many of the participants at the rallies are Vets! The only time Ive heard such non- support for troops has been that church group protesting at soldiers funerals, and they are a very extreme group! Give you a link? What part of I WAS THERE do you not understand. And this was a few years ago not a recent one. I was there with my rotc unit and heard this bs with my own ears. Poppy-****!!! Prove it!  You want proof, Look it up. Im sure you can still find a few old sites about why I was there in the first place. Hears the info you will need.
