So I just got a chihuahua pup... Anyone got any tips on what to do with the little guy?
He's having a rough time with all my babysitting kids and he chews on everything he can find. Which isn't too bothersome I just don't wanna make a habit of some things for him. I'd appreciate any input . |

For 1 thing be sure to block all the mouse holes.
Wouldn't want to lose the little booger! |

Ok tacos...nah. But we did find out he does like Doritos. Wouldn't stop licking all the kids.
Oh gosh, he's so little we had to buy him kitten collars and toys so all the holes and doors are BLOCKED! I will put pictures up asap....Promise |

I have a chihuahua... he looks like the taco bell dog. I used to get small burlap bags and put beggin strips inside for him, and he would chew on that instead of my shoes or all the other things he WASN'T supposed to chew on. He grew out of it with time, and now he's a pretty cool 9 year old dog!

I would highly recomend crate training. This dosn't mean you put him in a cage for extended periods of time, but it gives him a safe place to go. Whenever my rat terrier has had enough of visiting kids she goes to her crate, & all the kids know that is her safe place & they cannot bother her there. It is also very convient to have them used to the crate & happy in it when you need to take them to the vet or traveling.
If I am moving furniture or doing other things where I don't want her under foot, I tell mine to go to her crate & then I don't have to worry about her. It's been very helpful in many situations. |

Congrats!
I have two chihauhaus's myself! Make sure the kids don't hurt him! Get him some safe chewies. They are extremely intelligant and learn fast! Be patient and loving. |

I agree with MsTeddy.... but have encountered some bad ones. Just be sure to educate yourself and the kiddos!

I dunno. I'd feel bad emasculating the poor little guy.
We do have a microwave... on top of the fridge so the kids can't get to it. |
