While I was touring in Iraq all I could think of was her and going home, just getting back! One day my platoon were stranded, a great distance form our destination. As we walked my mind left my eyes on their fascination with the sand and it's feiry hot touch.

I began to think about her and within every mile I would picture her with a smile, like the one she would give me assuring her love for me. Even on the days with rain she would surely make it seem as though the sun was out and ready to shine, holding onto me, fulfilling her promise theat yes she was mine.

As I took the last couple of paces I caught myself saying outloud, " With her there is no other person, thing, or any places I would wanna be." My platoon looked at me in amaze, gosh how they probaly thought I was really beggining to be a craze!

We got to our destination and wasn't long our mission was over, I was sent on a plane to go home. My heart was pounding when I got off the plane I ran to her as she stood in astound, her heart was beating fast as mine as I told in her the only thing I could say " I love you" and with that smile that made every mile shorter, she replied I know it's true, every thought I had was for you, I love you!
