like folks who put their ears 2 the ground 2 'hear' the posie coming,

What does a posie sound like?

They're pretty quiet...After all, their little root-feet don't move very fast, but they're stealthy.....Could probably sneak up on you pretty easily. Don't even get me started on the Dire Pansy or Dread Peony.

what im trying to say is if a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it does it make a sound
No, it dose not. A'sound' is only an invisible viberation or shock wave that is picked up by an ear drum and interpited by our brain, If there is no ear drum or brain 2 'hear' it, then there is no sound, the sound only exist inside the brain.

Actually the ear is more like a receiver that picks up the sound, the sound is a vibration through the air.
Actually that is what i already wrote.

I was trying to say that the sound is the vibration through the air, it exists in the air.
The vibration waves move underwater and in outerspace, wherever something created the 'wave'.

Underwater, yes...Outer space, no. Sound requires a medium of transfer (molecular particles). Space is a vacuum (for all practical purposes).

the sound is there,no matter if anyone hears it or not.it's due to the weight of the tree and the speed at which it falls

if a tree fell in the woods and then righted itself back up again, would it freak out the squirrels?

No, you can't have sound without an audio detector of some sort...now if you placed a micorphone in the forest there would be a sound recorded. But, who really wants to hear a tree fall in the forest? I would rather hear the breeze blowing its leaves in the wind and two heart beats pounding softly as I walk hand in hand along a trail with a good friend.happy
I just wanna be that friend

Ahhhh, but you are a FRIEND...nust not that CLOSE (New Mexico) of a friend happy I wish for you a flock of New Mexico fillies to walk hand n hand wiff you flowerforyou
