That is why I posted that specific reply. I believe it is everyones right to have their own beliefs. I used to go to my Soldiers Wiccan services,Saturday nights,on West Fort Hood. He was new to the area and had no transportion. But, I felt he needed his faith and connections to get through his time in the Army. They never bashed me or questioned my beliefs. They did explain their beliefs to me because I was watching them worship. But after their rituals we sat by a fire, drank a bit of wine, shared bread and talked about life in general. Sometimes they would have conversations amongst themselves about their religious beliefs and others. I was never offended by their remarks because it is their right. NEVER was I put on the hot spot of defending my religion. I even took my Catholic husband and we enjoyed the May pole celebration with them. People are people. I believe God is the only one who has the right to judge others. But, that is just my belief. You mean they did not hold you down then try to force you to eat vegitables, and hug a tree before you dance around a fire? HMMMMMMMM <-------------------------------Sarcastic Jaun |

Yes I have....I pondered the same thing myself, long ago, but knew better than to pose the question to a bunch of people I don't know on a dating site's religious forum (probably because they didn't exist yet). I did my own research, and continue to do so. Do I believe he's basically yanking everyone's chain? Yep, but no more so than a lot of the other glorious topics that have been authored & discussed in these forums.

Yes I have....I pondered the same thing myself, long ago, but knew better than to pose the question to a bunch of people I don't know on a dating site's religious forum (probably because they didn't exist yet). I did my own research, and continue to do so. Do I believe he's basically yanking everyone's chain? Yep, but no more so than a lot of the other glorious topics that have been authored & discussed in these forums.
Maybe you should try asking on another day. I imagine that it would be perceived as being a sincere question if you asked it. |

Sometimes it just kind of hits me the wrong way when the "pile on" starts, especially with someone with, uhm, obvious communications issues. I tend to react to them as I would to a toddler.

where is JB with her math formula to prove God's existance????? I learned that there are over 900 mathematical formulas that claim to prove the existence of God. I don't think any kind of math can prove the existence of God, simply because they have not even defined or described what "God" is. I exist. That's proof enough for me.

I think the question : Who is God? is a very good question.
I have often asked the same question of people who refer to God as "he" ~as if God is a male. Then when they talk about "God said this and God said that" I am now suppose to assume that God is a male and that he has said some things. Who did he say them to? How do you know he said them to this person? "It is written in the Bible, so it must be true." Is the answer. Q: Why do you assume that it must be true just because it is written in the Bible? "Because the Bible is the word of God." Is the answer. Q: How do you know that? "Because the Bible says so, and I believe it." Is the answer. Okay, the next questions might be, what does God look like? How did God speak to Moses? Did he walk up to Moses in the flesh and talk to him or did Moses just start hearing voices in his head or from the sky or from something like a burning bush? If any of these things happened, why did Moses assume that this apparition speaking to him was God? It could have been anything or anybody, a fallen angel, a demon, an alien, a magician. How would he know? These would be my questions and considerations. JB |
