Cmon doc, I put a higher output ignition- msd 50. I got rid of the smog pump. I put on new belts, fuel filter, plugs and a 19 by 4 inch air cleaner. Then I put an electric fan out of a 2007 durango on the radiator and got rid of the heavy steel fan. My mileage went from 12 to 21 mpg. Thats as good as it gets then. You want more? doesn't everybody these days? I'm going to put new less rolling resistance tires on it. I've put 2 on already. Michelin t series.

You want more? you arent gonna do any better because of the 727 while they are indestructable, they are only 3 speeds that crazy old man put a stall and shift kit in that 727. Mustve pulled a trailer at one time.

You want more? you arent gonna do any better because of the 727 while they are indestructable, they are only 3 speeds assuming your diff is 3.21 you could go with something in the 2.7- 2.9 range yeah I'm hunting a 2.93 rear end out of a 89- 94 dodge ram. They made em hard to find. But they are out there.
