My old saying that I have said for years and I am the original creator of this..."Always judge a person by the size of their front door welcome mat...not the house that it's attached to."

I do not have a welcome mat laugh laugh

Me either, my entrance is on an interior and has carpet, I had a broom hanging, (an Irish tradition) and some idiot stole it...bad luck to them I hope.... really bad luck, my mom made it for me when I got married.

I had a house. When I became a single full time working Mom, I got rid of it.

A friend just got hold of a custom home built in 2003 for under $62 per square foot, which is awesome for her. Quick sale due to family death & slow market. That's a steal!!!! drinker

I am a single full time working mom but I live in an area where no one cares if you mow your lawn or if you property looks like a showcase. It's kinda wild and isolated and my neighbors can't really see my property anyway. So I mow when I can but I don't stress about it. I don't do any snow removal either..nor do I rake leaves.

Things around here go from 250k to 400k for reasonable decent houses, with any sort of land to them. I am not going to stay in the area for more than 2 years now - so not going to buy one now.
The market in this area is just now readjusting itself back to somewhat normalcy from WAY over inflated.

This is NOT the area for a young couple just starting out! Not many local jobs that pay well, tons of jobs that pay great, but you have to pay the 'commuter toll' to get to them.
