I have 2 guinea pigs. They were fine when I first got them. They didn't fight at all. But for some reason lately they have been fighting like crazy. Short of buying a new cage and separating them I have no clue as to what to do. Any suggestions?

They are both females and both from the same litter.

I had gotten two guinea pigs a while back. They were both male, and started fighting a little while after I got them. Its just to establish dominance and such. And like any two roommates, theyll bicker. Theyre truly social animals, so dont seperate them. Try getting each of them something of their own. Like, two little houses, two chew toys, etc etc. Eventually, theyll calm down.

SHE raises them,,,,,and she a great lady to talk to....

Maybe, like us, they are just having a bad day, week, etc.

Ok I will give it more time. I just didn't want to put them in a situation that was preventable if I could. Seems like they may just work it out. I shall see...
