My son just lost his first tooth!
It is so very tiny and small I wonder if the tooth fairy can even find it, even in his little tooth shaped box he has to store it under his pillow. He of course said one of his friends got a toy from the tooth fairy...I told him I got quarters. So, what would you give (knowing there is a precedent being set) for a tooth? |

I always got a dollar, but my brothers uped the ante my parents put out a quarter and they took the quarter and put a dollar under my pillow.
But congratulations... are you gonna save it? |

Yeah... I got a dollar bill all ready to fold up super small. I was thinking of getting some $2 bills for the back molars, I used to think that was the coolest.
I was just wondering if it had "gone up"... or if coins were a "no go". Of course, I called my sister first (she is a dentist) and she cried a little bit. She said he's not her little "bear" any more. And I'm so saving it in the baby book, provided I can find the little sucker. It is so small! |

AWE, that's such a big deal the first tooth...he'll be kissing girls soon you know.... I can imagine. My little heartbreaker. Of course, he cried when he had to stop playing Webkins. Then he cried when the tooth fell out, saying he missed it wiggling. So cranky I had to laugh. Then he cried, saying "stop laughing at me". [He is now in bed, trust me] He woke up today all excited about Earth Day, picking out green, brown and blue clothes. He even wore a necklace he made at school out of a blank CD, where he painted the globe on it and wore it around his neck with green yarn. How darling!! |

I always gave my daughter $1. I used to get a quarter or 50 cents.

I was giving my child $1.00 per tooth.
Then they had to get teeth pulled to make room for other teeth and braces. Well, the dentist tells my child that the tooth fairy gives $2.00 for pulled out teeth. I gave him a look! He should have checked with me first on that one. Lo and behold, one time six teeth were pulled. That tooth fairy was quite generous with the $12.00 under the pillow. Thank you, dentist! |

I think it should go by weight. I never got anything. We never believed in the toothfairy and that kind of stuff. |

Oh the drama... he was playing with it and it fell out of the box (he was supposed to be asleep, yeah right) and we just crawled around, moved the bed, and looked for it with a flashlight. Light beige carpet= not a good thing!
We found it! I "taped" (ie tamperproofed) the box with a crayola band-aid. Phew! |

You will see a face filled with joy in the morning. The quantity of money truly doesn't matter. The magic of it all is what it is all about. Enjoy and cherish that moment. |
