How about this? My Dad has been undergoing chemo for lung cancer for many, many months. His PET scan yesterday just showed the active tumors on his lungs, kidneys and in his bones are GONE, although he still has what they believe to be scar tissue on his lungs. He still has 2 months of chemo to go. If the spots prove to be tumors, they are extremely optimistic that they can be removed relatively easily! And they're putting him on a different combo of chemo drugs, so they think he won't be as nauseous as he has been!!

I shared something with someone here on jsh a couple of minutes ago via email. She wrote back to me like within seconds with one of the nicest compliments I've gotten in years.
Made me feel really good about myself. Thanks for the excellent post Shadow! |

Things that make me happy:
Sharing a few hours early on a Saturday morning video conferencing with my son in the UK. Knowing that all the bills are paid and it's only the 15th. Getting an IM request from someone I haven't heard from in awhile. Sharing a pizza at Shield's Pizzeria with friends and watching the game. Going out to the movies to stuff our faces with soft pretzels and popcorn. Taking a spin with a pretty lady in my Toyota Matrix XRS on a sunny Sunday afternoon, with good tunes playing. Walking in the park under shady trees on a cool late summer's day and then stopping at a bistro for a glass of wine and more conversation (same lady as above, hopefully). Cuddling in the afterglow of a round of terrific love making. |

I love the fenches that wake me in the morning.
I love the breeze coming in the window to cool my pillow at night. I love to stop and smell the flowers whenever I like. I love stepping back and realizing a job well done. I love it when people appreciate a job well done. I love spending time with my entire crazy family. I love getting together and laughing with friends. I love cooking a perfect meal and of course eating it. I love feeling like I can write what I'm feeling on this site. |

Way to go, Shadow ... this is what we need more of, I was just having a conversation with a dear friend today about how our thinking enpowers us, either postively or negatively.
I am happy that Spring is finally here. I am happy that I have a good job in this economy. I am happy that I'm able to pull weeds this evening. I am happy that I have laundry to do tonight. I am happy that the birds are singing as I sit on my deck with my laptop, the kitties surrounding me and the puppy at my feet. I am happy that my family is healthy, as am I. I am happy that my lilacs bloomed today and the scent is intoxicating. I am happy that you posted this and made us all stop and think for a minute how blessed we actually are every day. |
