So after babysitting today i was hanging out with the lady i babysit for talking, while the kids were playing base ball in the yard below us. When out of nowhere we hear a car squeal i guess(The breaks locked cuz they were hit soo fast) and the lady screamed, "OMG Brian!!!!!! ITS A KID!!!!!" i turn my head, see a bike and a little girl(I shouldnt say little she's 14) in the street. and the lady's husband running up to them, and then the lady a few feet behind. Well the woman who hit the little girl, goes to pick the girl up..Well the lady i was babysitting for SCREAMS "Dont move her" and the kids in the back yard(10,9,6,2) make a bee line for the front yard,SO i yell "STOP DONT U DARE"
well come to find out, the lady peeled around the corner and hit the girl, what i cant understand is how could u not see the girl, who was ALMOST done crossing the street??? wouldnt u have seen her as u were pulling up to the turn??? The girl's ok for the most part, she might have hit her head(She says she didnt but her hair clip was broken out of her hair) and 90% sure she broke her leg just above the ankle. |

 bad things happen in an instance because people dont take the time to pay attention especially when children are around...my prayers are with her and hope she makes a speedy recovery...as for the lady that hit her i hope she has taken away a valuable lesson of paying attention...

people don't stop to think about their speed or pay attention when they are driving in a residential area. The apartment complex I live in has like a billion kids (ok, just seems like it at times), I worry about letting my daughter go out and play because I am worried some idiot is going to come through the parking area a little too fast and hit one of the kids.
People need to pay more attention and SLOW THE H*LL DOWN!!!!! Hope the girl is ok. |

That's too bad. I hope her heads not hurt. She was very lucky indeed! My best friend died in a similar accident when we were just a little younger than that. It only takes a second.

it was just 4 blocks down from the beach. and the lady's lived there for 15+ years. she saids every year at LEAST 2 ppl get hit there, but they are normally adults who are drunk.
I'm just happy that the lady was an EMT and knew basically what to do before the fire department and them came around |

Just thank goodness that is the only thing that happen she could have been killed. Some times it is hard to say what they saw as far as the driver. She might have turned her head looking the other way. But..........at least the little girl did not suffer more damage.

I am a District Supervisor for several complexes, and we have speed limit signs posted everywhere, and the residents know that if I see them speeding, or their company/ guests speeding throughout the premises, especially with all the children we have that live there and play outside, what is going to happen to them. Also, we have it stated in their lease addendum paperwork, which is a good thing to have. I do not tolerate this at all!!! |

I was hit by a car, no less by someone who was late for school while I was on my way to school...10,000 plus years of existance and we still can't put enough value on that of a childs life.

kids are actually hard to hit, you know those signs that say "Slow Children", I can't even hit one of those. She must have been driving something with a "flux-compasator" I'm not gonna say what, but I think we all know what that is
 People are tards, everybody is in a hurry to go no where. stuff happens, sucks kid's are always the ones that pay for it. |

I went head first THROUGH the winshield waist deep.. what a mess. got scalped( yes i said scalped), 3 slipped discs, compound fractured right arm and a summons to appear in court for damages to his car!!!

I've been hit by a car twice. Once when I was seven and the other time a few years ago. When I was seven, I was riding my bike in the street, where my parents constantly warned me to be careful. A few years ago I was getting into a parked truck and just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
