i look him straight in the eyes and tell him i have to go see my nephew and niece.... you never knew i had a nephew and niece did you? yep i use to be uncle larry until last year .... works for me

comfort isn't enough to make the relationship work need more than that... i just ended a situation by being honest with him and telling him there was just something missing when we were together

You don't.
Sorry but that was the first thing that came to mind. Figure out a way to spice it up or something. |

Say, what you wrote....being honest is the best policy and you keep a friend.....

that is going nowhere, but you have some feelings for that person and i guess feel some sort of comfort-? Do BOTH of you a favor, just let him know how you feel and you don't have those feelings needed for a LTR. Don't keep him stinging along...not really fair. Now that's IF he has those feelings for you and is looking for a true LTR. So it's your call since it's your situation. |

all I can think of is, just tell them you have feelings for them, but it isn't working out for you, then ask if you could stay friends. that way, they are still in your life, but not romantically
are you sure you don't just feel sorry for them??? just be honest

Lieing never gets anyone anywhere, unless one has no moral values and no consciousness.
Truth is always the best,no matter who it hurts. |
do it real easy, and gentle and dont back down.
Just be as honest as you can be and hopefully you will still be friends. Good Luck to you

that is going nowhere, but you have some feelings for that person and i guess feel some sort of comfort-? You tell them what you would want to hear, if it were you. And draw a firm boundary line, and make that clear. Once you have your say, and make sure they know if you want friendship, then the ball is in his court. He decides, as you already have. |
