“Journey of Tears”

As each tear falls.
And I walk these lonely halls.
I wonder what went wrong.
I thought I was strong.

But a love like that.
One doesn’t just pull out of a hat.
I thought everything was fine.
And together we would drink wine.

I guess at times we do not see.
How cruel life can be.
I handed you my heart.
And you proceeded to tear it apart.

Why, if you really did not care?
Did you say you wanted to share.
A life built for two.
For if you saw things in a different view.

All you had to do is say.
This is not the way.
I would have understood.
And everything would have been good.

Now I watch all my fears.
Come back with all the tears.
This journey of tears is here.
At times I wish I could disappear.

As each tear streams down my face.
I sit here thinking in this place.
I’m starting to see things clear as it appears.
Here within this journey of tears.
