I think every police car in Will County travels up and down 53 all day -- my fenders are actually warped from all the radar -- I have a friend who owns a business in Braidwood (not the nuclear power plant) and I spend a lot of time out there, and 53 is the best way to get there --

I'll tell you the two best lines I ever got in real life (since nobody gives me lines on dating sites), both from my days as a musician:

1.) Some girl comes to my door and says "I knew you were an artist the first time I saw you." I had never seen her before. Stalker? Maybe, but she was a really decent person in the long run.

2.) Practicing some new material at a friend's house. Lots of people in and out of the place. A girl comes up to me and says "My friend Pam wants to know if she can sit on your lap." I'm OK with that, what could it hurt? Turned out she was from California, visiting her family, who lived down the street. Spent a few days with her, and never saw her again after she went back to California. That stuff NEVER happens anymore. Nobody wants to sit on a writer's lap.
