On borrowed time

Perhaps it’s just a trick, or an illusion.
The sense of urgency seems to be fading.
I must be daydreaming of a fantasy that clouds my minds eye.

It feels to natural 4 it to be a mystery yet still it remains one.
Covered by a cloak of fascination and excitement it touches reality
Just long enough to capture the radiant glow of adrenaline.

I’m caught in a trance of longevity that will only last for a short period of time.
The mirror tells me that I’m the path of no return.
Yet the driver of the cab tells me to ROCK on!!!

I must be dreaming
I must be imagining
I must be caught between worlds of borrowed time enjoying that which isn’t mine.

Is it truly possible to share that which is not yours to own.
Life, love, Laughter, and Living inside the words of a poem.
Time stands still when I look at the face of the angel.
But just like a rainbow it lasts for only a few moments

Flying over the river of emotions I sense that butterfly about to hatch.
The cocoon is no longer able to entrap me in this tiny casing.
My wings need to fly as do my feelings of travel.

I’ve learned through trial and error that I am only as good as I study to be.
The ocean of experience never seems to be an easy teacher
The fire of desire seems to fuel my passion for more intense borrowing.

I may be on my time always, but it’s borrowed from the true owner.

Just 1 wish, a little to late, captivates my inner youth
The life I live, the souls I touch all sing the songs of truth
On borrowed time we face the world, the universe seems so small
One day the large will be the small and all will be part of all.

When touched by 1 that understands inside, the life we wish we had
Touched by 2 with hands of joy embrace the fights you’ve had
Caressed by 3 the 4 bring 5 alive in palms that reach.
On borrowed time we take our hands, and stroll on the borrowed time beach.

Sunsets here are more then they appear when looked at with a closer eye.
It’s just imagination that takes up space when you’re caught in borrowed time.
