i hate when the number of friends on your list goes down... and you cant figure out who was there.. really bugs me

My friends number has been going up and down all week and I can't figure it out either. I actually sat down and wrote down everybodies name on a list......and then somehow my friends list got mixed up..........I just threw out the list it was too confusing....
