My husband has just found out that he has Hypolemic Periodic Paralysis
his potassium level drops to near death. They had this on Prime Time
last night. This has happened to my husband 5 times the last time was
Monday while we were in St. Louis ( I was scared to death) I told myself
that I will never go anywhere else with him anymore. But anyway he needs
to be on a low carb diet does anyone have any suggestions or recipes
that I could cook him? This is all very new to me I am going to have to
learn how to cook for him.

You will have to read a lot of labels when going to the grocery store.
The Atkins diet is high protein, very low carbs and the book does have
some recipes. But basically any meat, or cheese (cottage cheese has
the highest carbs however) are low in carbs. I am currently on the
Atkins diet myself so I know what your going through. Get some Splenda
which is a sugar substitute and is about the best I have found as some
have a bad after taste, as he will have to stay away from sugar.
Splenda is also 1/1 ratio so there is no math involved with switching
between that and sugar. Flour also has a lot of carbs but soy flour has
less than others. They also now make tortillas that are low carb so you
can use that for sandwich wraps.

there are alot of recipes on the internet. got to food network .com or
something like that or do a search for low carb recipes. definitely
things like breads, flour and potatoes are high in carbs. don't be
scared though, he needs you in those moments and if the diet is changed
and you leave prepared nothing will hold you two back from having an
active life

you can get them at any grocery store. you can also grill some chicken
and put in the wrap, sprinkle some cheese, lettuce and tomatoe. they're
quick and easy and damn they are good...i like fried ckicken in them
occasionally but the flour that you use to fry it has carbs

baking the chicken is really good too, it leaves the skin crispy. i
don't know what kind of seasonings you like(or if you like any at all)
but if you put it on and kinda rub it in before you put it in it comes
out great. add boiled potatoes or cheesey potatoes and something else
and you're all set. have a garden out back with a ton of green beans, to
me there isn't anything like fresh green beans and corn. it tastes
completely different from the canned stuff. cook the beans in a pot with
some bacon grease and pepper. lol now i'm hungry
