Here is the Reality !!

From the cia world fact book!

https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/us.html#Econ

The US:
Economy

Long-term problems include inadequate investment in economic infrastructure, rapidly rising medical and pension costs of an aging population, sizable trade and budget deficits, and stagnation of family income in the lower economic groups. The merchandise trade deficit reached a record $847 billion in 2007. Together, these problems caused a marked reduction in the value and status of the dollar worldwide in 2007.

GDP (purchasing power parity):
$13.86 trillion (2007 est.)
GDP (official exchange rate):
$13.79 trillion (2007 est.)
GDP - real growth rate:
2.2% (2007 est.)
GDP - per capita (PPP):
$46,000 (2007 est.)

GDP - composition by sector:
agriculture: 0.9%
industry: 20.6%
services: 78.5% (2007 est.)

Notice the percentage of services!!
A lot of these jobs are min wage! Now look up there at the GDP-per capita, it doesn't mean everyone makes that, that's an average. Considering how many in this country level below the poverty line, I think that number signifies a growing gap between the haves and the have-nots!

Most of those tax-cuts Bush has given have went to the wealthy. In the meantime the infrastructure is being ignored. Bridges are crumbling from age, dams are doing the same, and then FEMA dumped the Katrina fiasco in with that!
Then you have an aging population, many of which have no health insurance or retirement benefits.

I know Bush isn't the blame for it all, but if the Democrats offered a better choice than the two they are giving us, I'd jump so hard, and so fast away from John McCain, you wouldn't see me move!
(IMO) That just means that we are left with no real choice, or hope, in this election. I'm just trying to pick the one that will do the less harm! After 8 yrs of Bush, you'd think that wouldn't be hard to do!

Ah for the days when we would say FTW.
Now the world says FTUSA!!!

I am pretty sure that Bush had nothing to do with the increase cost of for an aging population. I mean he cant just go and kill the baby boomers who are reaching retirement age.

US also has the 8th highest GDP per capita in the world.
I wouldn't say a lot of service is minimum wage. Doctors, lawyers, dentists, accountants, stock brokers, I could go on and on. All those guys are service providers and would fit in the service industry.

I dont think anyone could be as bad as Bush. At least McCain doesn't seem to have a desire to use the country for his own personal vendetta and financial gain!

Hillary is dangerous in her own way, much of which is her financial gain! (and Bill's amusement)

Obama is nothing!noway

OMG, must be something catchy. Had a conflict with my son, told him he had to 'fly on his own wings'. He got his own apartment and is doing soooooooooooooo much better! And, I have my privacy back!

It is nerve wracking having kids!

You will make it! When I have become so stressed and need to escape, I turn on my real player downloads and blast away Freddie Mercury's songs. Especially his "Live Aid" performances and the one "Who Wants to Live Forever" live at Wembley 1986. I downloaded them from YouTube.

Freddie not only was a fantastic singer and performer, he was a character. Always picks me up and makes me laugh. He will always have a spot in my heart.

Il Divo, on the other hand, is for soothing my frazzled nerves.

Hang in there. I made it (my boys pushed me beyond sanity at times), and I know you will too!

Why must I continually point out to the liberal socialists that the richest 1% of this country pays a total of 37% of the total income tax, the riches 5% of this country pay a total of 52% of the total income tax, the lower 50% of the tax payers in this country pay a total of 3% of the total income tax. If you pay no taxes to begin with you can't get a tax reduction.

As for service jobs, I believe mechanics, plumbers and electricians etc are considered service jobs. Next time you need a plumber by the time he is done you will wish he was getting minimum wage laugh laugh laugh

The economy is a bit shaky right now if you want to put it in the toilet raise taxes.

Further, what makes anyone think that any company pays taxes, they do sent a check to the IRS, but the cost of those taxes are passed through to the consummer. Any tax increase ultimately comes out of your pocket twice, once when they tax you and the second time when you pay the taxes that business passes through to the consummer. Even if your IQ is only equal to golf par you should be able to figure that one out. laugh laugh

yup what he said. also i would add that until taxes are dramaticly LOWERED, say by 50 percent across the board, our economy will continue its downward spiral. They dont raise taxes to make more money, as in reality just the opposite always happens. Higher taxes ALWAYS ( HISTORICALLY) have had the end result of tying up more money that could be circulating,,, thereby making them less money in the end. There not short on money, they want to control us. Im for tax cuts for the rich,,, the poor.... everyone.
historically, 20 percent taxation has been considered tyranny.. we are at 60 plus percent and climbing.

Where are you getting those figures?

They are deceiving.

According the New York Times, 'families earning more than $1 million a year saw their federal tax rates drop more sharply than any group in the country as a result of President Bush’s tax cuts'.

A '[study] by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, also shows that tax rates for middle-income earners edged up in 2004, the most recent year for which data was available, while rates for people at the very top continued to decline.'

'Economists and tax analysts have long known that the biggest dollar value of Mr. Bush’s tax cuts goes to people at the very top income levels. One reason is that two of his signature measures, tax cuts on investment income and a steady reduction of estate taxes, overwhelmingly benefit the wealthiest households.'

I got the figure from ABC News and they are correct they are not deceiving. The liberal socialists keep harping that tax cuts benefit the rich of course any tax cut is going to benefit those who pay taxes. If you pay no taxes in the first place a tax cut won't help you. Instead of cursing the rich, the liberal socialists should be thankful for them, without their tax money there would be NO social programs to benefit the less fortunate.
