i was in hospital, me and some of the patients had a dispute whether the wards should be mixed sex or not.

the first ward you go to is mixed, then after a week or so, you go on a all ladies ward, or a all mens ward.

i much preffered it on the mixed ward, because i get on better with men, and it was nice to speak to men and women. also bear in my mind, its a phsyciatric hospital so nothing embaressing happens. and on the mixed wards MEN COULD NOT BE IN THE SAME ROOM AS A WOMAN, just out in the ward area and patio?

what are your opinions??

I think as long as the rooms themselves were men or women, that, especially in a psych setting, it would be theraputic to mix with men and women on the ward.

My opinion..... hmmm..

I don't think I would ever share with people if I was psychiatrically hospitalized in a locked mental health facility..... under any circumstances.

That is private and really, too much information. JMO

As to gender separation? I'll leave that to hospital administrators as to what they feel is in the best interests of thier patients.

Well... I would talk to my therapists and psychiatrist, of course. Those people required to keep my medical and psychological problems private, if I had said conditions.

In a clinical setting, lead by a trained and licensed therapist? Sure. It can be.

JSH is not that, by far.
