How many of you think they should bring back "the slap/spank" rule where the teacher can spank an unruly child in the classroom???

A slap in the face is not cool.

My mother did it to me one time and I gave her such a hateful look, she got a look of fear across her face I have never seen before or since. My look was one of rage, (and I do not anger easily at all)

But I fear that if I had been holding a knife, I may have been a very dangerous person at that moment.

I felt attacked and violated. It was just a slap in the face. It is not cool. It is asking for big trouble.

ive worked with children, and when some were really, really naughty, i never thought once ill hit this child, that thought NEVER came into my head. if i had children i would NEVER let anyone hit my child, therefore im NOT hitting a child.

Somebody touches my kid, and rules won't help them with me. Discipline is what parents are for.

I suppose whomever supports teachers hitting kids are in favor of public caning as well.

NO ONE touches my kids! Mine accually know better and they tend to tell others to straighten up. And it was done with love and praise, NEVER by hitting them.

if a child is that bad in school that they need to be spanked maybe they should be "spanking" the parent.............we never acted up in school and they could paddle us because we were more worried about what would happen when we got home............a healthy dose of fear tempered by love between a child and a parent isn't a bad thing

this is just something t put out there and in no way means i feel any person on here is this way.

We have such an objection to anyone else disciplining our little "angels" yet we don't do anything to ensure they don't need this said "discipline" when they are in others care.If parents would ensure the little darlings behaved with others better than what they behave with ourselves there wouldn't even need to be the ? of teacher/caregivers being able to spank unruly little miscreants.

obviously I am reading alot of opinions of people who don't spend much time at school lately and see how unruley some children can become.

I am not a advocate of spanking but spend a few days in a classroom and watch how disruptive a student can become and right now the teachers hands are tied just like the parents when it comes to spanking.

So ok lets just start ex-spelling every unruley child for any disruptive behavior then the parents can mis work and lets see how that will change many peoples minds

Cause you may have 90% of the children there serious about what the teacher is trying to teach them and that 10% is disrupting the whole lesson plan.

Schools have become daycare centers for parents and they put no effort into there children.

So how are we going to make everyone accountable after the 3 day suspension then in order for your child to return you must sit by them every day for a week. Lets then see how attitudes start to change
