Topic: would you be able to date...

Would you be able to date someone whom had/was: An Eating Disorder? A Cutter? Abused in the past? Depressed? Bi-Polar? Unable to empathize/sympathize with anything? OR Any other disorders that could be construed as bad? Why or why not?

Sure. It's all about how you and they interact with each other. No need to let their past decide your future.

i will not date someone who is bi polar. bad experience, she tried to kill herself and i had to stop her. not once but twice.

I've dated a few of those you mentioned.. they pretty much all sucked really badly, and the cutter (I didn't know he was at first) nearly killed me a couple times. No fun. In this day and age it's pretty difficult to find someone that hasn't been abused in some way in their life, or that hasn't been depressed at some point. I wouldn't be closed off to those.

Dating a cutter would be a little too much but depression, bipolar, eating disorder, abused I would.

i dated a person who was bi-polar very bad experience---i also later found out they basically lied about everything and were on drugs(coke). BAD EXPERIENCE!

The part about not being able to empathize/sympathize? Not a good situation. Been there, done that...got a crappy tee shirt for my trouble... My ex tried to commit suicide...ended up in the hospital for a week. There are some things that you simply cannot help someone else through, no matter how much you want to. All you end up doing is suffering untold grief and pain that will only end when you end your relationship with that person.

well i suffer with depression, and ive been raped, so i guess to some im out the picture. interesting to know i guess, but i am quite shocked.
