Void of Nothing
Something you felt missing Way down deep inside, Looking for an answer That always runs to hide. You feel it oh so close Yet you cannot take a grasp, Slipping through your fingers Like water from the past. Though you search in shadows, Your heart sees what it's cost, You refuse to listen Because of what's been lost. Sure it hurts a little But that little feels a lot, Just the time it's forgotten It ties you in a knot. You fill the hole with memories That always find their day, It is now you realize This hole won't go away. My friend we all have choices But we can't fill a void That keeps growing larger As we stay annoyed. Though our peace may wander Just outside our grasp, Don't chase it like a carrot Because you're more than that. Don't become the monster Locked inside us all, My friend you're only human, We're all bound to fall. Once that fate is realized, You turn your heart to friends, That void you thought was something Becomes nothing in the end. Fadedspirit 4/7/2008 |
