I have always been honest with my children,,, They were much older than
your child when the questions came to surface,,, but have always
instilled in them that a family does not have to have a mom and dad to
be called a family, and have always instilled in them to love themselves
and each other,,, the bond me and my children have is so incredible,,,,
and i have always been honest with them in all aspects of life,,,, stay
strong raising a child is the best gift in life,,, and at times can seem
so difficult trust in yourself, and listen to your heart,,, the answers
will come... D :)

Lamom is right also a positive male influence such as an uncle or

my son admires his grandpa and uncle. he told me that he wanted to be
just like both of them. the funny thing about that is gramps is a
cowboy and my bro is a police officer. that will make an intresting
combo.

I always told my daughter that he Loves her very much. I'm in CA he was
around the first yr or so then moved to FL. I would tell her he was busy
workin. He would call sometimes then he had left his # 1 time & she
didnt want to call him back.
I just never bad mouthed him at all, she can make her own choice about
him.

I have not and never will bad mouth his father because if it was not for
hsi father i would not have him. besides it was not all bad times with
us. at least i can say the sex was good.

I agree with the others. I raised my daughter by myself from the time
she was 5 until adulthood. Her dad was an alcoholic, and I never bad
mouthed him either. She did have special issues though because he would
call and tell her all kinds of stuff, especially while he was drunk.
Finally started screening the calls if I could get to them first, and
wouldn't let him talk to her when he was loaded. Made it really hard on
her, she still has issues, he died when she was 18 (because of the
alcohol).

Just love them and support them. Be as honest as you can for the age.

I am a single mom of 2 teenage girls, they know there father and step
father are asses, but it was not for me to say ill thiings about them,
The kids will make their own choices about their other parents buy how
he/she treats them. They both dont call the kids or write or send them
cards so they decided they didnt want anything to do with them.
