The sky awakens as dawn approaches
the sun breaking through the darkness of the night
through my window I watch silently
listening to the voices in my head
telling me to be calm, not to worry
the day will take care of itself
Laundry to do, dishes to wash
floors to be scrubbed and vacuumed
breakfast to cook, fights to break up
keep the peace and keep on going
this is my life, the path I've chosen
I often wonder what am I doing
Do I measure up, Do I really care
what others think I'm doin wrong
I take each day as if it's a fresh start
Thank God for my blessings
and remember love comes from the heart
No matter the storms that come and go
I'll keep standing and staying strong
Take care of the things that have to be done
this daily ritual that burns me out
It's hard to do it all alone,
but I know that soon my Knight will come along
He'll take me and show me how to share
He'll open this heart and make me weak
He'll love me and show me how to care
and ultimately accept me for ME
