What one dwells upon births more of the same... This holds true because of...???? Who knows...  Mental outlook... Vibes... Unknowing thoughtful prayer... The unconscious development of patterned thinking and/or actions... One will reap that which one sews... It is too bad that we all were not equally equipped...  My hoe is broken... Me pitchfork is tine-less... And me mind is blurry... What was this thread about again?  Its about Karma. And I am having a great time discussing something besides Christianity again and again.

I think you would find Confucianism escpecially interesting considering your occupation. Its perfectly natural for a person in your occupation to have a high regard for ceremony (politness). I think that sounds reasonable. I get very little courtesy at times... and rarely do I encounter it shown to others... Just the nature of what I do. I mean these statements not with my peers but with the defendants I interview. But I think there might be level of outrage I have in that, and why I focus so much on courtesy, respect, and effective communication in my everyday life. You're very smart, Mirror. I like you ... even if you don't want to get married or have kids. I take that to mean we can be friends forever without you having distractions!

Abra, can you not see that the cause of suffering is desire ? Can you not see that the world is aflame with desire ? It is as The Buddha said. If you eliminate Tanha then you eliminate Dukkha. Be careful to consider what The Buddha has elucidated and what he has not elucidated.

Karma, in my understanding, yes, holds us to the wheel of re-birth, and also keeps the wheel from becoming too burdened with either negative or positive energies which would upset the balance of the universe. You seem to believe in The Dao (The Balance).

If everything is cause and effect and if every cause becomes an effect and every effect become a cause then there can be no first cause and no last effect. The cyclical view of time as oppossed to the linear view of time.

The ultimate goal is nirvana isn't it? The escape from each who is suffering in samsara for an immeasurable time, until one reaches nirvana?... The end being nirvana... The end? I think wikipedia has corn-fused me...

To ME, MYSELF AND I....the Golden Rule is like Karma. I treat others the way I would like to be treated. the results of it could be a reward (even if it's only a good feeling) or punishment
as I stated in my OP...this is based on what I was told from a friend who is wiccan (maybe she made it simple for me...i don't know) i admit i don't know all about Karma. I was under the impression of the same thing creative said. based on what I was told it was...is why I think that it's very similar |
