How many e-mails, IM's would you consider it stalking? This is a basic question, you can build on it or give an example of. No names please.

Try blocking the person and/or reporting them to a site administrator.

If you/someone responded to them, and told them "no interest here" I would have to say 3.

It can be as little as one because it depends on the content. There are some really sick people out there and to many, the internet is not real. They consider threats or insults etc as a harmless expression of their dark side. It can be damn scary and some people just don't get it.

haha, well depends on how you feel about the perp.
I was getting like 10 emails a day from someone, and if I didn't respond he'd text me and if I didn't respond he text me more and then he'd call and if I didn't answer then he'd keep calling. I finally had to say look, stop!! It pushed me sooo far away don't think I will ever be able to deal with him ever. He wants to date me on a serious level and well when someone is courting you they are on thier best behaviour, so I am sure if I dated him he would put a lesh on me and not cool!!! I guess it is diff for everyone, you just have to I guess follow your instincts. If it feels a little creepy and stalkerish then it prob is so you should nip it and run. |

ok, what do think of this, you open your yahoo IM and your have 5 waiting for you. With the"are you invisible" question.

Stalking is when you are physically in danger...im's and emails do not constitute danger...

ok, good point Lily, and your looking a little green today. anyone else? I think it is asinine for someone to contact you constantly to try to get your attention, and really really despirate, but you can ignore emails and im's.... when it comes to the phone... I might start calling it harrasment..... |

I agree, one e-mail is enough. If I or them don't respond than toodles.

I disagree I think you can be stalked online. I've been. When you have to block them on i.m and emails and even the phone and they say they will show up at your door it can be scary...just be careful, even online.

Auburn girl brings up a good point as well. Lily says stalking is danger. So, is it really actual physical harm or mental harm thats should be considered danger?

Every potential threat should be taken seriously. If you're truly concerned, report it to your local authorities, get their advice, and see what they have to say on the matter. |
