mother, New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, would work to
repair the nation's reputation abroad.'

'She urged the crowd to register to vote and to listen to past
debates between her mother and rival Illinois Sen. Barack
Obama.'

'An audience member at N.C. State also pressed Clinton to
discuss the Monica Lewinsky scandal. Clinton declined to
discuss her father's relationship with the White House intern,
drawing applause when she told the young man that it was none
of his business.'

I doubt that if Hillary Clinton becomes the Democratic nominee for President, that this and other controversial topics for discussion about the Clintons' past will be 'off limits' to the McCain campaign and conservative pundits.

Anyone who tells the people that what they do is "none of their business" is unfit to lead a country.

Maybe, but Hillary didn't do anything with Monica Lewinsky. I believe that was her husband.

If she won't tell us what her husband's up to then what makes you think she'd tell you what she's doing with all your taxpayer money?

So, because someone is married to someone means they know what that person is up to??? What fantasy world do you live in? Besides, Bill has already admitted to what went on way back before our current fearless leaders got us into the war & the economic mess we now enjoy. How anything that happened that long ago that she had nothing to do with have any possible impact on her credentials to be president now?

I agree. But there was controversy surrounding it that involved Hillary Clinton directly.

For example, when the scandal broke, she blamed it on a "vast right-wing conspiracy".

The McCain campaign and other conservative pundits may use this and other statements made by Hillary to try to discredit her and portray her as being unfit for the Office of the President.

As much as I may be wanting to go conservative, I do agree with the fact that those personal issues have little to do with a candidate, and I hate to see someone smeared unfairly.

I was wondering because the comments being made were focusing on Hillary when Chelsea was doing the talking.

I feel that it was very tacky for a reporter to ask a child about their father's affair when married to the mother. It must be difficult for Chelsea because most children don't know about their parent's affairs.

Yes, it was totally uncalled for to even ask the question. But in the heat of presidential campaigns there will be a lot of mud-slinging.

So the question people should be asking themselves is:

Which Democratic nominee is most electable in November?

Well, you know me, mnhiker. I like Hillary's brains. But if she doesn't make it, I'm backing Obama.

I agree, it was a personal question. Even courts have a victim protection program, and Hillary was definitely the victim! Would you want someone to ask your child a question like that?

You really believe that you'll have more money in your pocket if a Democrat is elected? If that Democrat is able to enact National Health Care, I hope you'll revisit your post to see if you still feel the same way.

It will take some time to fix the damage from the last 8 yrs.

It is the country's business since it was not only a nation-wide scandal, but also a world-wide scandal.
