You passed me for months, barely without a spoken word. You reeled me in with minor attention, but it was attention. So I took it. One day strong, the next not so much. You wanted my arms around you, but then never again. You went straight to the bedroom night after night, yet rarely acknowledged me. You read your books and turned out the lights without the goodnights. That off switch noise from the lamp was my Dreaded click.

When you have lost so much in such a short time, asking for a larger payout would just be silly.
