Not heating the burrito made it worse. I think there was no germ killing in the thing. Oh....and I thought these girls were "vetted". There were dozens of emails, and phone calls first. So it wasn't that I did not do my homework.

WHEW! I was starting to think I was the only one. LOL moofooga...your #3 cracked me up. Yeah, my #2 story was a classic. My friends all laugh at that one. I never came clean to her why I was "excusing" myself...too embarrassed. So I have some blame as far as her not wanting to meet me again. She must have thought I was stepping out talking to my buddies about how the heck to get out of the date.

(I'm a newbie, so go easy on me)

Thought I would share 3 of my internet dating stories that almost had me give up on this forever! PS. These all happened on another dating site.

1) I found myself interested in a profile of a cute little red head that lived out of state, but was moving to my state within a couple of weeks. So we started to chat and emails turned into phone calls and phone calls turned into plans to meet. Sure enough...she moved to Colorado and the night she came to town, we made plans to meet at a local Starbucks. I arrived early and waited. After a half an hour or so, a woman approached me. "Shane"? Um....yes.... "Hi, I'm Julie"
(Here is the clincher) I don't think I am a shallow person, but I did not recognize who I was meeting that night. Her photos were at LEAST 10 years prior to the person I was meeting and at LEAST 80-100 lbs. lighter. I could not believe that this person had the gull to try and pull this. I was polite...but made it a quick night. She continued to call and call, so without another option, I had to be blunt about it. Did she think she would win me over with her personality after being so dishonest about who she was?

2) This one was MY FAULT! After some time emailing, and talking over the phone, I invited this sweetie out to an Avalanche hockey game. I was so excited to meet her! But, it was a very crazy day at work. I found myself not having enough time to stop and have a decent lunch. So without any other way to satisfy my hunger...I wound up grabbing a frozen burrito and a soda from a gas station. BIG MISTAKE! Not only was it horrible, but in my rush...I forgot to heat it up first! I was so hungry that I just plugged my nose and swallowed it down. Well, a few hours later, I found myself waiting outside to meet this girl and between the nerves of meeting someone new and a nasty burrito gurgling in my stomach, (do I have to really go any farther here?) found myself with a gas attack from hell. I was excusing myself ever 20 min. to go "relieve" myself. Lets just say I never heard from her again.

3) I had a nice woman continually trying to contact me. Although she seemed nice, I just found that I was not interested. Maybe because she made it clear that she was looking for husband. I was recently divorced and really just wanted to get my feet wet again. A month later another woman contacted me and I decided to respond. I thought we were really hitting it off! So after a few emails, I gave her my phone number. She called, and we had a long and great phone conversation. At the end of the conversation, she dropped the bomb! "Remember that person who you were not interested in? Well, that was me...you f'ing jerk"! WOW !!! All that effort just to let me have it? WHEW...I guess my first instincts were right!

Could not agree more. (I mean...about the original post. It has gotten way off track now) I am an ex "not-so-plenty" member. I think because there are so few women, compared to men there, they think their $hit doesn't stink. Just glad to be around some real folks.

Missing summer too. Don't you get tired of good weather all the time? Winters in CO get old sometimes, but snowstorms can be awesome! Fireplaces, watching the snowflakes come down on a still winter's night. I love it.

New to the site, but not Colorado. Born and raised since '67. 4 ( real ) seasons, mountains, cities, and great people. Could not think of a better place to be. Hmmmmm maybe an ocean somewhere would be nice though. Oh well, that's what vacations are for!
