Must be a Texas thing. So that would be a deal breaker for you. If the person says to the waiter, "Whatever she just ordered forget about it, she reallys wants this..."

Yes, order especially if she has never been to the place before. I pick up the menus and ask, "Do you trust my judgment?" Then I proceed to order her whatever I think she would like. No one has ever ordered for you?

I'm kind of old fashioned. I will pay, order and drive for the person I am taking.
