Quite a few people on here are real ... scammers.

I have gone beyond "Hi" with three people claiming to be women. (That a profile shows a picture of a woman and states that it represents a woman is no guarantee that the profile owner actually is a woman. For simplicity, I will refer to the three people mentioned below as she.)

The first wanted money. She stated that she loved me after we had exchanged a few text messages.

The second one wanted indecent pictures, possibly with blackmail in mind. She also stated that she loved me after we had exchanged a few text messages.

The third broke off communication when I insisted on a background check. I don't know whether she intended a scam or resented the background check. I suspect the former, since she professed deep love for me after we had exchanged a couple of text messages.

Bottom line: if it's a real person, the odds that she or he is a scammer are fairly good. Too early declarations of love seem to improve the odds of a scammer.

I believe that my experience is reasonably representative.

True some seem to want to know what you do for a living :joy: when you say unemployed they go silent :joy: obviously seeing no money here. Also you get spammed with like from clearly scam accounts. Tried this online stuff for first time but think I will be going back to traditional methods.
