Cool! I enjoy spending time on the water as well, and I usually prefer fresh water. I have traveled pretty much all of the coast-line in Florida (including south Florida and the Keys), and I believe the Destin / Fort Beaches in the panhandle offer the most beautiful beaches around. The blue-green water and white sugar-sand beaches are awesome, and the beaches are not over-crowded. But if you are looking for places to get away for private parties with your friends, there are some cool places I have found up here that are hard to beat.

I’ll hit the coast for late afternoon and evening cruises…




But some of the best times are finding a nice sandbar on a river, setting up a grill and a volleyball net, and getting alittle skiing in…





Checking out the wildlife is always fun too!



Finally, I have a few kayaks that are fun to take out too. Most people would find it hard to believe Florida has rivers with rapids. Visiting these spots just after a rain storm really turns the rivers into fun rides!

Like the title says, what attracts you to the Sunshine State? I've traveled this whole state, and there's got to be something here for everyone, from theme parks to beaches and parks to shopping malls to wild night life. So where do you enjoy your free time?

Hi Angel! Welcome to the Mingle2 site! It's nice to see another member from Tallahassee here. I have been checking out the other threads around here, but I'm hoping to get more conversation from local members started in the Florida topic.

So, what is your favorite thing about Tallahassee? For me, it's all of the nature things this area has to offer. Yesterday I was on the lower St Marks river near the St Marks fort, today after work I was checking out the upper St Marks river above Natural Bridge. There's alot to do around here, just have to get out and find it.
