Even if two people share similar values and similar ideas as to what they want out of their relationship, they may have different ideas as to the timing when they were to move to the next level, which could be a problem if one of them is not patient enough to keep pace with the one with a slower timetable.. JMO Because they don't take the time to understand where the other on is coming from and why they need the time. I think that depends on how strong their feeling are for each other.. If strong enough, they will probably take the time to figure it out. If not, they may not find it worthwhile to take further time and just move on..

However they are labeled, I think I see what you are getting at.. Do you mean something like, a relationship more driven by the emotional or ideological bond vs. more driven by the compatibility of sexual disposition? Well, in ideal relationships, both will be necessary to some extent I guess.. However, one that starts off with emotional bond may or may not end up materializing as much of the sexual gratification as both partners would have wanted, which by the way wouldn't be a major problem for them to maintain the bond.. On the flip side, one that starts off with physical bond doesn't necessarily enable it to develop into emotional one no matter how open both partners are to such option and how much effort they make.. JMO
