the day was august 3rd 1991,
only problem i had was when the streetlights
mocked the sun,
the message came loud and clear,
from the step where i laid down,
thoughts if i could go back to the only problem back then now,
for i never thought i would grow up to see,
the day i turned a man and problems were too much for me,
but every night i think back to the simple things in this world,
never thought that the clam would ever give me a pearl,
but it happened when i realized that i was in charge,
you see life is to precious and dreams never too large.

i feel like the devil knocked that angel off my shoulder,
inspired thoughts followed by the evils worthless blunder,
so far ive got faith and i will not follow under,
i dont want to see the day when heavens vacancy says no,
the world is a great place,
and you are the one to show.
