People deactivate for a myriad of reasons. Often, to reactivate at a later time. Deleting post history, simply because one chooses to deactivate instead of log out, isn't just butt dumb. It's downright vindictive. Yes people could deactivate for any reason, but I feel more comfortable when my data is deleted, after all it's MY data... The thing I can't stand, and it also sows seeds of mistrust, is when you want your data deleted but the site would like to hang on to it... "in case you return" translates into "so we can sell your data".... Legally, due to the TOS we agreed to, the site owns the data. Few as they were, the admins and mods we had, great as they were, were often assigned many duties. Making them too busy, to delete the posting histories of everyone who deactivated, or got deactivated. Let alone, the numerous current and previous posters, who simply want their histories deleted, because they "changed". Hell, if I could, I'd delete my own posting history, pre 2015. |

After all, Trump was a lifelong democrat until 2015, when he changed affiliation to seek the Republican primary nomination.
