I'm with ya on the "small" feeling. I LOVE Augusta Co., though. Surrounded by mountains on either side and the parkway so close by. Lots of great, clean, cold-water streams for trout fishing. Just an excellent area to become one with mother nature and her offerings. True, I do miss some of the offerings of Baltimore.

I-64 corridor area of the Shenandoah Valley. About 5 minutes from the parkway in the Afton Mountain area. Can't wait to drive it (parkway) later this month to be overwhelmed with endless mountains of an Autumnal palate. The fly fishing will be getting good soon, too... can't wait!
