I'm a single parent as well and I don't even let my children meet the person until I know it's going to be a serious relationship.

While it is crazy to bring your child on a date it's possible they do not have anyone to watch their child. This happens quite a bit with single parents. It may also be possible that they are not ignoring you but their phone is broken, they may have some emergency going on in their family or their phone may not be in service. If they are ignoring you then yes that is very cowardice but do not take it personal. It's their loss and I am a strong believer in Karma.
