I'm wondering if part of their process for weeding out applicants is just to see how many of us will wait it out.

I applied for this job before Christmas; it's a city job so I know it takes time and I have to go through a civil service exam, but I thought that the essay test that they included with the application was the exam.

Turns out the skills evaluation and interview I did today were the civil service exam; there will still be another round of interviews to go. They're not expecting to fill the position until April.

Skydiving - I'm planning it for my birthday.

I feel 29; it works well for me. Now if I can just figure out how to stay 29 forever.

Heels and jeans.

Specifically, I have this great pair of peep-toe houndstooth heels - they're great.

My ex was verbally and emotionally abusive. I put up with it for a number of years before it finally got bad enough that I knew I needed to make change. Once I started standing up for myself it was over in a matter of months and I believe that if I hadn't left exactly when I did that it would have turned physical. And yeah, his best friend would be there sometimes, and he just ignored it.

I also had a run in with a real wonderful guy at work. About the time that he was saying he wanted to kick my a$$ I submitted a complaint to HR. After about 5 weeks and another complaint, the company decided that the best way to deal with the situation was to get rid of me. It's being handled by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission now.

I always keep mine painted, the color really depends on my mood and the season. Right now they are deep red. I usually do flowers and jewels too.

I like getting flowers.

I'm going for my 30th in June!

I think both men and women are capable of doing such things.

When I was in high school I was stood up on Valentine's Day and dumped the following day.

An older, tired-looking dog wandered into my yard.
I could tell from his collar and well-fed belly that he had a home and was well taken care of.

He calmly came over to me, I gave him a few pats on his head;
he then followed me into my house, slowly walked down the
hall, curled up in the corner and fell asleep.

An hour later, he went to the door, and I let him out.

The next day he was back, greeted me in my yard, walked inside and resumed his spot in the hall and again slept for about an hour.
This continued off and on for several weeks.
Curious I pinned a note to his collar: 'I would like to find out who the owner of this wonderful sweet dog is and ask if you are aware that almost every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap.'

The next day he arrived for his nap, with a different note pinned to his collar:
'He lives in a home with 6 children, 2 under the age of 3 - he's trying to catch up on his sleep.
Can I come with him tomorrow?'
