In my opinion 10 years from now when you are 30 and he's 44 it won't matter, but at this point in your life I'd say it definitely makes a difference. Think about it this way... 5 years ago you were only in the 9th or 10th grade. 5 years ago he was already old enough to have graduated college, have kids, be married, own a business, be divorced...

I'm not saying it's a major no-no, but I just can't see what sort of foundation you could start a relationship when you are at such different stages of your life.
